After a brilliant event in 2016, SOHK’s jazz evening is back, supporting our life-changing schools work in south London.
SOHK for Schools has been running in London since 2015, and provides a 3 year commitment to children who are at risk of exclusion or struggling to integrate successfully in school, helping them to tackle their barriers and meet their full potential. The programme uses a powerful mix of rugby and mentoring to support the children as individuals with whatever their personal barriers are – from lack of confidence or low self-esteem, to poor motivation or low aspirations, and to help to ensure that they leave school with a sense of achievement and self-worth and a positive plan for the future. The programme has been live in south London since September 2016 and is achieving remarkable results – but it needs your help to continue into the next academic year.
The SOHK Jazz Night will be an evening of great food and wonderful entertainment, as well as an opportunity to hear more about the work of SOHK. Your ticket includes a 2 course meal, and a cash bar will be available for the duration of the evening. We will also be auctioning off some amazing items, and you will automatically be entered into the raffle once you have purchased your tickets.
Tickets are available at sohk.org.uk/jazz. The event will take place at Hideaway, 225 Streatham High Road, on Thursday 25th May. Doors open at 7pm; please arrive promptly.
We use sport to tackle the issues surrounding unemployment, crime and health. We work with individuals to help them take reponsibility and take positive steps forward in their lives.
