SOHK England

Every child deserves a future. We’re fighting for it.

Every day, more young people – particularly from the most disadvantaged backgrounds – are slipping through the cracks of our education system. School Of Hard Knocks (SOHK) is here to change that.

Grows confidence & life skills

All three of these activities work within SOHK’s 3Cs framework: Confidence, Control, and Connection. ‘The 3Cs’ is built on an evidence-based sport for development framework and has been adapted over the years to best apply to our beneficiaries. We believe that for our participants to realise their potential and go on to fulfil it, they need confidence, control, and connection; all of our activities seek to improve these things.

All three activities work within SOHK’s 3Cs framework: Confidence, Control and Connection. Built on an evidence-based sport for development model and refined over years of delivery, the 3Cs reflect what we know young people need to realise their potential – and what all of our work is designed to strengthen.

Supporting your school’s Ofsted assessment

SOHK’s 3Cs framework – Confidence, Control and Connection – directly supports the areas Ofsted inspectors assess under Personal Development and Behaviour & Attitudes. Schools working with us are better placed to demonstrate measurable progress in pupil wellbeing, self-regulation and positive relationships.

“The SOHK programme is very well organised, with core values that seek to improve young people’s experiences at school. For us, it has been a programme of skills-based improvements — students working as a team, building positive relationships with each other and staff, and carrying those skills into their future.”

– Teacher from a school in Lambeth, London — AY 2025/26

Too many young people feel disconnected from school, struggle with confidence, or face barriers that make it harder to succeed.

Help another young person unlock their potential.
